HairMax Laser Comb - New Test Results

Guest Author - Lynne Chapman

Some years ago I had the opportunity to test the effects of a new device, using low level light therapy, that was said to improve hair health. I was told that the HairMax Laser Comb would produce noticeable results, starting with shinier, thicker looking hair and progressing on to denser, fuller and stronger appearing hair. The HairMax is a hand held electrical device that is comfortable to use – giving off no heat. Using the principle of “Photo-Biostimulation” the Hair Max Laser Comb progressively improves the health and appearance of hair. I started to see good results after two weeks of my trial period and even better after six weeks use.

In the time since my review, the Hair Max has been undergoing clinical testing. In a new study – a controlled clinical trial - the HairMax has proved effective in treating hair loss. The study included clinical assessment of treated scalp sites carried out by objective evaluation of macro-images using dot mapping and computer aided hair counts, and with subjective evaluations by physicians and patients. Some of the patients received a placebo or fake device and served as a control group.

The six-month study, titled, “HairMax Laser Comb Laser Phototherapy Device in the Treatment of Male Androgenetic Alopecia,” demonstrated that the device is of benefit in the treatment in men with Androgentic Alopecia. The findings of the study were published in Peer Review Medical Journal.
Androgenetic alopecia is a very common disorder that affects both men (male pattern hair loss) and women (female pattern hair loss.) It generally occurs more often in men – often beginning by the age of thirty - but the incidence in women is increasing.
The laser energy emitted by the HairMax Laser Comb is said to increase the biological molecule, ATP, which in turn increases cellular metabolism and cellular activity. The hair follicle then receives the building blocks and energy to transform it from a weakened follicle to one that is healthy and capable of producing thick fully developed hair. The enhanced hair growth environment in turn invigorates the hair follicle which produces healthier hair, prevents further hair loss and stimulates the re-growth of thicker hair.

Please be aware that I do not have Androgenetic Alopecia or any personal experience with severe hair loss. I recommend this product only because of the visual benefits that I received in my own hair. However, it is FDA approved and I am encouraged that it may be one possible answer to male and female pattern baldness.
