Leto
Guest Author - Chris E. Barrett

Leto was born of the titans Coeus and Phoebe. She had an affair with Zeus, and became pregnant with twins. She bore the first twin, Artemis, in Ortygia. Hera, found out that Zeus was the father of Leto's children, and in a jelous fit prevented Eileithyia (goddess of childbirth) from hearing Leto's pain with the second twin.

Leto traveled the world in anguish, looking for a safe harbor to bear her child. When she reached the island of Delos, the people there took pity on her and agreed that she could have her child on their land. They offered prayer to Eileithyia and let her know of Leto's pain. She came and the final twin, Apollo, was born.
