5 Unique Techniques for Word
Guest Author - Chris Curtis

Where did I leave Off?
Press Shift +F5 as soon as you open your word document; the insertion point will return to the last place in your document that you edited.

Beyond Print Preview
Word’s Print Zoom feature allows you to print multiple pages of your document on one page. You will find the Print Zoom in the lower right had corner of your print dialog box (File/Print). Choose the number of pages you want to appear on a page (even numbers up to 16 pages) then click on OK.

Changing Text Case
You can quickly change the case of your text by selecting the text and pressing Shift + F3. Shift + F3 will toggle between ALL CAPS, lower case, and Initial Caps. This works in PowerPoint as well.

Rearranging your Table Rows
You can reorder your table rows using the Outline view. Place your cursor inside the table and click on the Outline View button in the lower left corner of your Word Document. Hover your mouse pointer over the Outline bullet next to the row you want to move until the mouse pointer displays a crosshair. Click and hold on the Outline bullet; then drag and drop to where you want to put it. You will see a guide line showing you where the row will be inserted.

Inserting a Tab in a Table Cell
When you use the tab key in a table the insertion point moves to the next cell in the table. If you want to tab inside a cell, press CTRL + Tab. You can set custom tabs within your table cells. For example, your table will contain a column of numbers and you want to align them with a decimal tab. Set a decimal tab exactly like you would outside of a table but place the tab stop on the ruler where you want it between the column markers of the table column.
