Hello! I am your guide within the Family Travel section. I am a wife and mother living in the suburbs of Columbus, Ohio. My husband and I have three very active daughters, ranging in age from toddler to teen, four cats, one psycho puppy and a fairly busy existence most days! Our weekly getaways with our daughters and our dog have become our favorite refuge when daily life gets crazy!

I graduated from Ohio University and began a career in Environmental Engineering and Environmental Health and Safety consulting. Doesn’t sound like the background of a writer, does it? Well, rather than creating engineering plans, I discovered myself drifting to technical writing, permit preparation and project management. My career allowed me the opportunity to combine my education with my desire to write. It was during that time that I was also able to travel to a variety of locations on business—and become bitten by a travel bug that just keeps biting!

As my life evolved, and two more daughters were born, I left the corporate environmental world and embarked on the journey into the world of a freelance writer and stay at home mom. Because my husband´s work schedule is often demanding, we ensure that the precious time we do spend together as a family is memorable. We love to travel and experience the new--and sometimes unusual. Sharing this love of adventure and exploration with our always present daughters is one of our favorite pastimes.
